The Ministry of Defense issued a statement according to which the anti-terrorist operations were conducted with air support from Russia’s aviation, which has been operating in Syria since September 2015 at the request of the Government in Damascus.
Images show intense bombings with missiles and artillery that destroyed bastions and caves that the radicals use as hideouts, shelters and underground weapons and ammunition warehouses.
Military sources told Prensa Latina that the anti-terrorist operations will continue in response to the attacks on civilian communities and army outposts, and in retaliation for the attack on the military academy in the province of Homs, where 89 soldiers and civilians were killed.
Irregular groups deployed in Idlib province and parts of the Aleppo governorate recently increased their attacks on the Syrian Army and communities, including launching rocket and drone attacks, claiming the lives of several civilians.
