Holguín, Cuba, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, in his capacity as a lawmaker of the National People's Power Assembly (Parliament) visited several social works in progress in the eastern province of Holguín on Saturday.

Accompanied by Lawmaker Sonia Chacón, the head of Government confirmed the progress made in the camping site in the town of Caletones, close to its inauguration, after a lengthy investment process.

The Cuban Government reported on its social network X (formerly Twitter) that the recreational center has 49 rooms and a capacity for 220 holidaymakers.

Marrero also visited the new headquarters of the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima General Teaching Hospital, which was subject to an extensive process of construction, repair and remodeling of its premises.

He met with residents of the Gibara 1 people’s council, with whom he spoke about the construction status of educational centers and the training of students at different educational levels.

Marrero asked about the results of the Higher Education exams, the teaching coverage, vocational guidance and access to university careers in Gibara.

During the meetings, the prime minister stressed the urgent needs to achieve greater undertakings from the territories and make the municipality the fundamental cell, because it is the most responsible for satisfying the people’s needs and solving their pressing problems.

“You can always look for a local solution. These are times, more than ever, when the Government has to be on the streets,” he said.
