At the activity organized by the Cuban embassy in New Delhi on the occasion of Cuba’s Culture Day, the Indian official considered extraordinary the history of Cuba with passages such as the one commemorated this Friday, the anniversary of the first time the Bayamo Anthem was sung, on October 20, 1868.
Likewise, on behalf of her government, the minister wished prosperity to the Cuban people in their path of resistance and struggle in the face of economic challenges.
In the activity, which was attended by friends of Cuba and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in India, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas handed Lekhi a copy of the book De Colón al Siglo 21: Una breve historia de Cuba, in English, presented on the occasion of the anniversary.
The publication is a brief look at the main events, divided into three periods -colonial, neocolonial and revolutionary-, which is intended to familiarize the reader with the long process of formation of the Cuban nationality, according to the introduction written by its author, the director of the Capitán San Luis publishing house, Julio Cubría Vichot.
