The document on cooperation in the fields of industrial technology and agricultural machinery was penned by the head of that State Ministry, Girma Amente, and the president of the Korean Institute for the Advancement of Technology, Min Byung-joo, on behalf of their respective countries.

Amente appreciated South Korea’s willingness to cooperate with Ethiopia in transforming the agricultural sector, described as the backbone of the nation’s economy.

The agreement will also improve the mechanization of wheat cultivation across all value chains, from production to processing.

Another step forward in strengthening commercial ties and their digitalization between both countries was the memorandum of understanding between the Ethiopian Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Gebremeskel Chala, and South Korean Minister of Industry and Energy Bang Moon Kyu.

According to he local State Ministry on its Facebook page, in 2002, a commercial and economic agreement was inked between the two countries and the current one strengthens that agreement.

Moon Kyu noted that Ethiopia is a country with a strong economic potential in the African Union and with the memorandum of understanding they will strengthen bilateral trade and investments.

Both Byung-joo and Moon Kyu are visiting this capital as part of a delegation from South Korea
