Sri Lanka warns against consequences if attack on Palestine continues

Colombo, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) Sri Lanka's National Peace Council (NPC) has warned against unpredictable consequences for the world if the severe humanitarian situation and violence in the Palestinian territories continue.

In a statement, the peace organization urged the international community to stop violence immediately, or the conflict will spiral out of control.

The NPC noted that the United Nations Security Council must take steps to establish a ceasefire to end the war and, in the longer term, reach a negotiated settlement.

The organization called on international representatives and humanitarian organizations to do everything possible to protect civilians so that crimes against humanity do not continue.

It deemed it essential to reduce tensions and expressed its support for establishing two States, Israel and Palestine, to resolve the conflict, which should be resolved through political means.
