According to official sources, the head of Russian diplomacy will meet with his counterpart, Choe Son-hui, to plan bilateral cooperation in various areas and assess regional and international issues of common interest.
Lavrov’s visit is taking place weeks after the Workers’ Party General Secretary and State Affairs Chairman, Kim Jong Un, traveled to Russia’s Far East and met with President Vladimir Putin. From September 12 to 18, the DPRK Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces also toured factories of armaments, rocket, air and naval defense units as well as space exploration and research centers in Russia.
Political circles and media from the two countries noted that Kim and Putin held official and private talks in a cordial atmosphere, where good relations between them was evidenced.
