The meeting’s program includes topics related to Basic Space Sciences, Astronomy, Geophysics and Remote Sensing, according to a report by the Cuban News Agency.
Experts will also discuss Global Positioning Systems, Distance Education, Meteorology and Physics.
The objective is to promote the applications of Space Technology to medicine, communications, agriculture, industry, cartography, geodesy, geography, geophysics and other branches.
Likewise, to promote the exchange of experiences and to join efforts to improve the use of space applications in the country, to know the results of other institutions and to promote their integration in the sector’s affairs.
In 1999, the UN General Assembly instituted World Space Week, from October 4 to 10, to celebrate each year on an international scale the contributions of space science and technology to the improvement of the human condition.
