Conflict resolution focuses Ethiopia-Israel meeting

Addis Ababa, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, met with Israeli Ambassador Aleli Admasu on Wednesday on the need to find lasting solutions to the conflict.

According to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Facebook profile, Mekonnen and Admasu also addressed the latest developments in both countries and the Middle East.

The resolution of conflicts focused on the meeting, the text noted, without giving further details.

A new wave of violence began on October 7, when the Islamic Resistance Movement militias attacked Israel in response to Tel Aviv’s crime escalation against the Palestinian people.

Over 1,300 people were killed during this incursion, catching the Army and security forces by surprise. In retaliation, Israel launched a wave of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip unprecedented in the history of this conflict, provoking a severe humanitarian crisis.

So far, more than 3,000 civilians have been killed, 70 percent of them children and women, and entire neighborhoods and 120,000 homes have been destroyed.
