Bolivian President condemns Israeli bombing against Gaza hospital

La Paz, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, deplored "in the strongest terms" the Israeli bombing of the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza, Palestine, and demanded an immediate ceasefire against that town.

“We condemn in the strongest terms Israel’s shelling of Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, which constitutes a war crime, leaving hundreds dead and wounded. We call for an immediate ceasefire that openly violates the human rights of the Palestinian people,” the president wrote on social media.

Arce reaffirmed in another post the right of Palestine to have a sovereign state, a concept endorsed in several United Nations resolutions.

“The non-compliance with those agreements is the origin of the current conflict, which threatens to spread and claim more innocent lives,” he said in his X account (formerly Twitter).

The head of State recalled that during his participation in the 77th and 78th sessions of the UN General Assembly in his proposals with a view to declaring the world as a territory of peace, he urged the Security Council of that international body to prevent the genocide against the Palestinian people from materializing.

On September 19, Arce demanded in a speech at the UN headquarters in New York, to stop the outrage exercised by the Government of Israel against Palestine, stating that “we cannot continue to allow the suffering of the Palestinian people”.

In this regard, he reaffirmed Bolivia’s support for global and regional initiatives, international law and UN resolutions that seek to ensure a solution that allows the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and build their own free, independent and sovereign state.
