The head of Ankara’s diplomacy emphasized that his country continues its efforts in two directions: preventing the expansion of the clashes and the need to quickly deliver aid to Gaza. At the same time, Fidan proposed to establish a mediation mechanism between Israel and Palestine with the guarantor countries, including Türkiye, to find a way out of the crisis.
In his opinion, the time has come for the international community to take a step towards establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.
The authority announced that the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold a meeting tomorrow in Jeddah to discuss the situation in Gaza.
For his part, the Lebanese Foreign Minister, Abdullah Bouhabib, affirmed that the Israeli attacks in the south provoke a tension on the front that is difficult to contain.
In this regard, he added that the Israeli attacks on the southern borders of the nation constitute a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
During his stay in Beirut, Faidan held meetings with Acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Army Commander General Joseph Aoun.
With both, the Turkish minister discussed bilateral relations, the situation in southern Lebanon and the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
