In his profile on the social network X, the Cuban Foreign Minister denounced that the United States ignores the calls of the international community to eliminate, without conditions, that unilateral, extraterritorial, and genocidal policy while reaffirming the right of the Caribbean nation to live without that blockade.
Rodríguez denounced that since 2019 Washington has escalated those unilateral coercive measures to an extreme dimension that deprives Cuba of the indispensable income to acquire food, fuel, raw materials, and equipment, and causes shortages, difficulties and anxiety to families.
It is, he said, a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of human rights.
He recalled that at current prices, the accumulated damages of the U.S. blockade amount to 159,084 million dollars, and last year reached 4,867, that is, 405 million dollars a month.
He pointed out that Cuba’s continued inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism aggravates this situation.
Once again the government of the United States, in its unilateral, extraterritorial and genocidal policy, will be isolated in the face of the unanimous demand of the international community that Cuba has the right to live without a blockade, the diplomat remarked.
