Lebanon asks Islamic cooperation body to annul agreements with Israel

Beirut, Oct 16 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, today called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to annul the agreements with Israel.

Speaking here virtually at the emergency meeting of the Union of Councils of Member States held in Algeria, the head of the legislature defended the right of the Palestinian people to legitimate resistance by all means.

In this regard, he reaffirmed the will of the Palestinian people to return and establish their state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Berri stressed that defending Palestine and Gaza is not the responsibility of a specific militia, nor of its people, but of the entire Arab nation.

In this line of thought, the parliamentary authority indicated that if the Gaza displacement project is approved, it will be a ruin for Arab national security and a strategy to divide the region.

At the same time, he called for putting pressure on the Israeli entity to stop all Judaization projects targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Lebanese leader and leader of the Shiite Amal movement thanked the meeting of heads of parliaments of the Union of OIC member states for Algeria’s stance and hailed the resistance of Palestinian fighters.
