In a statement, the Demosthenes Rodriguez Professionals Circle, which is part of the National Workers Central of Panama, declared the diplomat persona non grata, after he questioned the independent presidential candidate for the progressive forces Maribel Gordon who pronounced herself in favor of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinians are presently suffering one of the greatest genocides in the 21st century and which has been rejected by the United Nations and the whole world’, the statement read.

The group further points out that the Palestinians have the right to defend themselves and their cause is supported by the peoples of the world who oppose Tel Aviv’s criminal offensive, which reminds us of the German army when it attacked the Jews during the Second World War, the document stresses.

During the week, other voices such as the academician Anayansi Turner, who heads the Palestine Solidarity Movement, rejected the violence that marks the war between Israel and Palestine.

According to Saturday’s reports from the Health Ministry, the number of Palestinians killed by Israel´s attack rose to 2,215, among them 724 children and 458 women.

The entity added that 8,714 people have been wounded.
