The aircraft returned to India with 235 nationals out of the more than 15,000 who still remain in Israeli soil, according to diplomatic sources.
During the reception at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh attested the gratitude of passengers to the Government and Foreign Ministry for the speedy response.
A total of 212 people returned on Friday at the start of Operation Ajay which is dependent on an evolving situation, and therefore, details on future flights will be released as they are concluded, according to Arindam Bagchi, official spokesman for the Indian Foreign Ministry.
Bagchi assured that the Indian Foreign Ministry remains in contact with its embassy in Israel, the Representative Office in Ramallah and other embassies in neighboring countries, mainly Jordan, Syria and Egypt.
The diplomat pointed out that the Indian authorities are attentive to the events in order to take the corresponding measures, in order to help nationals, and did not rule out the use of Air Force ships in the aforementioned mission if the situation requires it so.
