The president of the agency, specialized in opinion polls, Oscar Shémel, pointed out, based on last September’s Monitor País, that 55 percent of Venezuelans prefer the current head of State to solve the economic problems instead of an opposition government.
He pointed out that 62 percent of Venezuelans considered making the socialist model more efficient and productive, while 81 percent rejected the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country by the United States and its allies.
In the scenario of the next presidential elections, scheduled for 2024, Venezuelans’ decision will not be determined in the sense of alternation or change, but rather in the sense of alternatives, he said.
Shémel stressed that Venezuela is entering a new stage of the revolutionary process and “a new majority must be built”, which translates into a renewed hegemonic system.
