Visual and performing arts, cinema, dance, music, literature, and gastronomy captivated those who gathered in emblematic places to enjoy a good concert, a photo exhibition, a dance show, a master class, or a film in all its splendor.
For five days, the Spanish Film Showcase screened films of different styles and trends of contemporary Iberian cinema at “23 y 12” and “Acapulco” movie theaters.
In addition to films, lectures such as “Mañana literaria en clave femenina” with Spanish playwright Nieves Rodriguez and a master class on photo portraits entitled “Toda Cuba a través de un rostro” by Spanish photographer Hector Garrido were also added.
Spanish singer Argentina Lopez, who returned to Cuba to present “Idilio en La Habana. Flamenco y Son Cubano,” gave two concerts.
Spanish musician David Antigüedad, a defender of the classical guitar, gave a concert along with Pubertrast Orchestra and ECOS Flamenco Company.
The exhibition “La anarquía del espacio” by Spanish photographer Ángel Marcos, the recital “El amor cocinero. Tesoros de la música escénica española” by Harmonia del Parnàs group, and the play “Barataria” thanks to Cuban actor and director Jazz Vilá, also attracted the audience.
“Gala de la Hispanidad: pasos y huellas” brought together the most outstanding Cuban dancers, including Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, Micompañía, the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, ECOS Flamenco Company, and Acosta Danza Company.
The Cultural Week of Spain in Cuba left everyone with high emotions and the conviction that art, beyond beliefs, political positions, or preferences, captivates and calls people to love and create bonds of brotherhood among nations.
