After a dry season due to climatic phenomena such as La Niña and El Niño, in recent weeks there have been more frequent alerts for rains and damages caused by troughs and tropical waves that affected the country.
On Thursday, MARN reported a high probability (60 to 80%) of flooding in urban areas, which could slightly affect traffic and pedestrian traffic caused by the recent rains that occurred during the early morning and part of this morning.
Flash floods could cause the dragging of people, vehicles and other exposed elements in the municipalities of San Luis Talpa, La Libertad, and surrounding areas, the entity informed. Frequent images can be seen of communities affected by flooding of rivers and other water currents.
The precipitations are the consequences of low pressure to the south of El Salvador, which causes the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean to continue, and maintain the adverse weather, while authorities increase their calls to take precautionary measures.
