The President of the Council of Ministers Alberto Otárola informed that this was the President’s decision; preceded by parliamentary and journalistic criticisms and claims which included suggestions of measures such as the one announced.
He also said that between 60 and 70 Peruvians will be evacuated by the presidential plane, and priority will be given to those in vulnerable situations, such as the elderly, pregnant women and the sick.
He specified that about 250 Peruvian tourists remained in Israel when the Hamas attacks started off in Israeli territory, unable to leave due to the suspension of flights by the airlines.
On the possibility of the presidential plane being dedicated the necessary days to the evacuation of Peruvians from Israel and Boluarte returning to Lima on a commercial flight, he only responded that the President has arranged for the presidential plane to be at the disposal of these citizens.
