Alongside other ministers, Manuel Marrero arrived to the municipality of Baracoa where he called to strengthen the regional development strategy based on the endogenous potentialities as well as to promote tourism and the rescue of culture and traditions of the Villa Primada.
Regarding cocoa production, the Cuban PM stressed the significance of expanding cocoa export capacities and promoting the foreign investment projects.
Marrero also visited the Jardin de Sueños children’s home, the only one belonging to the University of Guantánamo, an initiative that, in his opinion, should be extended and generalized, given its impact on the demographic dynamics.
Cuba´s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil, on the other hand, harped on the causes that generate over-fulfillment of the country’s retail trade circulation, a contradictory figure if there is no increase of goods and services to the population.
Regarding the housing issue in the eastern territory, the imperative to seek local solutions and exploit the potentialities that are not yet sufficiently used was reiterated.
