CNN Brazil TV referred that the sentence was 20,000 reais (about US$4,000) imposed by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Such sentence was issued after the TSE trial concluded that Bolsonaro improperly used the office and the administrative structure of the Presidency to campaign at the meeting with foreign ambassadors at the Alvorada Palace (official residence), in July 2022, and ignite his supporters against the Electoral Justice.

The case was included in the agenda by the head of the TSE, Alexandre de Moraes, at the request of the Minister Rapporteur Benedito Gonçalves.

The speech to the diplomats was broadcast live on social media and TV Brazil.
