Farhina Ahmed, Secretary for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said in a press conference that at 10 a.m. on that day, we intend to make Dhaka, the capital city, noise-free for one minute.
She urged the cooperation of all residents to control noise pollution.
Similarly, she said, special programs will be held on October 15 from 09:30 am to 10:00 am in important areas like Osmani Auditorium, Shahbagh intersections, Uttara, Vijaysarani, Mirpur-10, Gabtali, Mogbazar, Mahakhali, Gulshan-1 and Basabo Buddhist temple.
High authorities and other officials will gather there with propagandas to raise awareness about the damage to human health caused by noise, Ahmed said.
Constant exposure to high noise levels can cause stress, anxiety, cardiovascular problems, and learning disabilities, among others.
