Three months ago, legislators of the largest opposition party in the country announced that they would present such motion, alleging that over a year into his second term, Lourenço “subverted the democratic process” and “consolidated an authoritarian regime that threatens peace and citizens’ rights.”
According to statements to the press by the leader of the UNITA parliamentary group, Liberty Chiyaca, 90 MPs subscribed to the bill, which has 100 pages and over 200 articles.
