Russia: Middle East conflict may affect energy market

Moscow, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) The worsening of the situation in the Middle East may affect the world energy market, that is why Russia and Saudi Arabia intend to discuss the issue, said Deputy Prime Minister Aleksánder Nóvak.

“We have certainly debated these matters. Any such event in the world can affect the situation of energy resource consumption in one way or the other,” Novak told the Vzgliad digital newspaper.

A new worsening of the situation in the Middle East occurred on October 7th after militants of the Palestinian movement Hamas launched an attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Hamas stated that the attack was a response to Israeli actions at the Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. In response, Israel announced its readiness for war and the total blockade of the Gaza Strip.

This spiral of violence can only be stopped if UN resolutions on Palestine are met, which for 75 years has been a victim of aggression from Israel, which has occupied more than 70 percent of Palestinian territory.
