The Russian leader explained that the United States has practically moved away from previous international instruments to solve this problem, and “several countries, including Russia, were included in these instruments, and Washington has monopolized this process”.
Putin recalled that Moscow’s stance on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, “has always been clear, understandable, transparent.”
“It is necessary to fulfill previous decisions of the UN Security Council (UNSC) until the creation of a sovereign, independent Palestinian state,” he stressed.
“Just as was originally envisaged when Israel itself was created,” the Russian leader noted. In his opinion, this is a complex and too sensitive issue.
Putin made no predictions as to whether the United States will change its policy in the wake of the current escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
