Finance Minister Jerson Posada told local media that the president would make an announcement soon, following reports in El Mundo newspaper, which quoted the president’s words on September 15 that the library would be opened “very soon.”

While the works on the library donated by the People’s Republic of China are nearing completion, the Omni company is laying underground cables in the surrounding area so that users can use modern communication technologies.

The budget of the Ministry of Culture also provides for spending 7.5 million dollars to ensure the library’s functioning, which will have “modern technology,” the authorities said.

The work, started in February 2022 and valued at 54 million dollars donated by China, joined the Government’s several projects, including the wiring and recovery in the historic center of San Salvador, railroad, and water projects, among other infrastructures.
