Before the lawmakers of the Bundestag (the German Parliament), she confirmed that “in the last few days, thousands have left Tel Aviv in different ways,” some of them arrived by bus to Jordan and there they took a plane to Berlin.
The government officials explained that the German citizens also traveled with international airlines.
She recalled that Lufthansa will operate about eight evacuation flights from Israel on Thursday and Friday.
According to the Bild newspaper, about 5,000 German citizens remain in hotels or in the homes of friends, although the number of Germans in this Middle Eastern territory is officially unknown.
