According to that institution, the president will give a speech during the opening of the event, which will bring together representatives from more than 110 member countries of the initiative in Beijing, under the theme “High-quality cooperation on the Belt and Road: Together for common development and prosperity”.
The main topics of the meeting will revolve around commercial connectivity, green development, digital economy, people-to-people communication, and subnational and maritime cooperation.
China recently published a book showing the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a high-level plan for international openness and collaboration. The document collects the experiences of the megaproject in the 10 years since it was founded and announces an opening of China into new areas and in greater depth.
The BRI, proposed by China in 2013, is a megaproject that articulates different land and maritime routes, mainly throughout Asia, Africa and Europe. The inclusion of Latin America and the Caribbean later on, responds to the interest of incorporating new subjects, promoting multilateralism, and favoring the creation of infrastructures.
The megaproject establishes a transregional interconnection network mainly through investment in infrastructure, but it covers cooperation in different sectors of economy, society, and culture.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Forum constitutes the best opportunity to celebrate 10 years of the BRI, as it will become an important platform for high-quality collaboration, and is currently a popular global public good, with connectivity as its main line.
