The two ministers discussed the upcoming visit the Lebanese foreign minister intends to make to Damascus to discuss the return of refugees residing in the Lebanese nation, and ways to put an end to all obstacles to their return, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
They also discussed the current developments in the Gaza Strip and preparations for the upcoming emergency meeting of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.
The Lebanese diplomat offered his deepest condolences for the civilian and military casualties who fell during last Thursday’s drone attack on a graduation ceremony of Military Academy cadets in the central Syrian province of Homs.
He reiterated Beirut’s support for Syria ahead of this terrible act and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
