The current military conflagration is not a conflict between the Gaza Strip and Israel, it is a conflict between international legality and the Zionist apartheid regime that attacks the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to their full freedom and sovereignty, according to a statement to which Prensa Latina had access.

Through the document, more than 30 representatives of civil collectives rejected the arbitrary and illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories by Israel, in open violation of Security Council resolutions and other multilateral bodies.

In the text, they state that around six million Palestinians are refugees and cannot exercise their right to return, in addition to deprivation of economic and social rights, as well as the illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip as collective punishment, crimes against humanity.

The organizations demanded that Latin American and Caribbean countries that are part of the United Nations, such as the Security Council, play a historic leadership role to put an end to the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories and, consequently, achieve a just and lasting peace in that region of the Middle East.
