President AMLO confirms Migration Summit for 12 nations

Mexico City, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) on Monday confirmed a presidential Migration Summit for 12 countries including Mexico for upcoming Oct. 22.

In his morning press briefing, AMLO explained that he has already invited the heads and foreign ministers of Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, Costa Rica and Panama.

Almost all of them have already confirmed their attendance and only President Gustavo Petro (Colombia) and Guatemalan president have yet to do so because of the elections.

AMLO said the 12 nations will be going to tackle down on everything related to poverty as a good neighborly agreement.

Jumping to a related issue, AMLO insisted that when the Summit of the Americas is being called for its 10th edition, all countries should be invited without exclusions.
