Cubans pay tribute to their heroes Camilo and Che

camilo
Havana, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Workers, students, and the people in all of Cuba's provinces pay tribute to their heroes on Monday as part of the Camilo-Che Day until October 28.

The tributes started on Sunday with volunteer works in productive centers to recall Cuban-Argentinean guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara on the 56th anniversary of his capture and subsequent assassination in 1967 while participating in the struggle to liberate Bolivia.

The tribute in the central city Cuban city of Santa Clara, liberated by Che’s troops, was paid to the man known as the Heroic Guerrilla Fighter in the memorial that keeps his remains along with those of his comrades in the Bolivian heroic deed.

These initiatives include lectures, youth debates, and patriotic acts, among other cultural, ports and political activities.

They will end with the traditional tribute to Commander Camilo Cienfuegos by throwing flowers into the sea on the date he died in 1959.

Camilo and Che’s untimely deaths while carrying out revolutionary missions made them symbols of commitment and dedication to the cause that began in Cuba on January 1, 1959, after the triumph of the Rebel Army against the tyranny of dictator Fulgencio Batista.
