The measure caused flight delays on Friday and the suspension of at least 20 flights at the Arturo Merino Benítez international airport in Santiago.
The union presented a list of seven requests, among which are solutions to technical problems in communications, navigation and surveillance, which are essential for safe and efficient traffic.
They also demanded increasing the personnel and more investments in functional and reliable equipment and technologies that operate without errors, as well as in infrastructure to achieve minimum standards and professional development.
According to the controllers, they were cut off from flights on two occasions this year due to the use of obsolete equipment. However, the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics assured that it was due to external reasons, specifically fiber optics connections.
Another demand from the sector is the reactivation of negotiations to enact a law proposed by previous governments to establish a 32-hour labor week.
