A report from the Executive reveals that most of these casualties, adding 550 wounded, were recorded in central areas of the country, including the states of Galmadug and Hirshabelle.
Among the casualties during this period were 19 commanders of the radical formation, who were planning and carrying out bomb attacks throughout the country, the document said.
The official statement was released a day after the Minister of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Daud Aweys Jama, declared that on the previous day in the state of Galmudug, the military troops had killed more than a hundred Al-Shabab extremists.
As a result of the military campaign carried out by the Army since last year, these forces expelled from numerous cities and localities the formation considered terrorist, which still controls areas of central and southern Somalia.
