The state news agency ACNC reported that the meeting, sponsored by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, had as its central theme the balance of the protection of interests and rights of Asia-Pacific countries in international economic relations.
The meeting was attended by the delegation of the Central Court of the DPRK led by its president Choe Kun Yong; and the chief justices of China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, among other delegations and authorities from 16 countries.
On the occasion, various issues were discussed related to the protection of business rights and ensuring the balance between the judicial interests of states, such as the protection of foreign investments and cooperation in international transportation.
The head of the DPRK delegation stressed that developing international trade and cooperation on the principles of respect for sovereignty, equality and mutual benefits is the invariable stand of the DPRK and the unanimous aspiration of the developing countries.
Choe said that the DPRK has improved the regulations of foreign economic laws which will help expand and promote economic relations with other countries and has also adopted and amended the laws on investment by foreign individuals and enterprises.
He also noted that the Central Court of the DPRK will fulfill its duty to establish an impartial order of international relations and ensure international economic ties through legal channels and expressed the willingness to constantly intensify the exchange and cooperation in the legal sector, with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
