According to the Superior Institute of Health (ISS), among regions with most cases reported is Lombardy (83), followed by Lazio (54) and Emilia Romagna (35).
The ISS specialists stated autochthonous dengue transmission, although still with limited number of cases, is spreading with unrelated transmission episodes, particularly in Lodi, Latina and Rome provinces.
Researches are underway to check possible epidemiological links, according to the report, which specifies that “all cases in which the clinical course is known have been recovering or improving”.
Ahead of such a situation, ISS highly recommends implementing control actions, in case of viral circulation, based on provisions of the National Plan for Prevention, Surveillance and Response to Arbovirosis (PNA) 2020-2025.
