“As of July 2023, we have reached exports for over USD$6 billion. I would like to note that these exports are mainly made up of manufactures,” he reiterated at a press conference.
During his speech at the Foreign Ministry, the deputy minister explained that, “evidently,” exports up to July scaled down with respect to the same period of 2022 due to the conflicts in Peru that caused “serious difficulties” to access the markets of the Andean Community (CAN).
The authority cleared, however, that the sales of goods abroad mark an upturn in the second half of 2023 and it is expected to be more significant in the remainder of the year.
He was optimistic by indicating that, despite the aforementioned difficulties, already in July 2023 exports exceeded those of the same period of 2021 and doubled those of 2020 (USD$3.7 billion).
