The event will be attended by nearly 800 participants both in person and online, from Latin American nations such as Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela and Paraguay, in addition to nationals, as explained to Prensa Latina by the president of the International Committee of the Forum, Victor Jeifets.
The also director of the Center for Ibero-American Studies of the Russian city’s university said that researchers, academics, diplomats and students will come together in more than 70 activities that include lectures, panels, exhibitions and book presentations.
Jeifets said that one of the most important events will be the debate on Cuban revolutions in the 20th century, a panel where prominent researchers from the University of Havana and the Juan Marinello Cuban Institute of Cultural Research will present their investigations.
The VI International Forum Russia and Ibero-America in the turbulent world continues the tradition of congresses and forums on Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese studies, held in St. Petersburg biannually since 2013, devoted mainly to the mechanisms and challenges of the formation of a new world order.
