Wednesday marks 11 years since the closing of the presidential campaign for the 2012 elections when the Bolivarian leader, before thousands of Venezuelans who filled seven central avenues in Caracas, made a historic speech of commitment to and love for his people.

On Monday, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, recalled the tours they made throughout the nation before October 4, during the closing of the campaign for the 2012 elections.

He commented that making an extraordinary effort of love for his people and his homeland, under the intense rain on Bolivar Avenue, Chavez was acclaimed by thousands of people who did not move from the place. To remember this date is to keep Chavez in mind and we do it in the purest spirit of “remembering our Chavez”, he affirmed.

Cabello assured that this was one of the most transcendental political events in Venezuela, and that it also was the political farewell of the Commander in an event before the people.

In a message on Wednesday, the PSUV noted that the closing of the presidential electoral campaign was the victorious conclusion “From Sabaneta to Miraflores” and the consecration of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution “in absolute loyalty” with the Venezuelan people and the full determination to protect and defend it.
