According to Razan Al-Tarabishi, Director of Primary Health Care, free clinical check-ups will be offered to women over 20 years old, a mammogram for those over 40 years old, and an ultrasound scan for those under 40 years old at high risk of breast cancer.
The official revealed that the Ministry made available 980 health centers and 33 mammographs in all the governorates for the doctors active in this campaign.
Several activities were also carried out to raise awareness of this disease, including seminars on the latest scientific advances in oncological diseases.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this disease is the most common type of cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer mortality among women, and disproportionately affects low- and middle-income countries.
