Poets from Bolivia, Honduras, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba attend the event, sponsored by the Parallel Zero Poetry Festival in Ecuador, the Cubapoesía Cultural Center, and the Association of Writers at UNEAC.
National Literature Prize winners Nancy Morejon and Miguel Barnet spoke at the Ruben Martinez Villena Hall of the organization this Monday, where Cuban Culture Minister Alpidio Alonso and writers Alex Pausides, Alberto Marrero, and Roberto Mendez were also present, UNEAC informed.
Cuban poet Waldo Leyva highlighted Latin American poetry’s intensity and warned the authenticity of personal voices that characterize South poetry.
Bolivian poet Paura Rodríguez, Ecuadorian writers Kevin Villacís, Juan Suárez, and Elsye Suquilanda, and Hondurans Sharvelt and Rolando Kattan also shared opinions during the meeting.
