Argentina criticizes impunity in attacks on Cuban embassy in the U.S

Atentado-Embajada-Cuba-en-EEUU
Buenos Aires, Oct 2 (Prensa Latina) More than a week after the attack with two Molotov cocktails to the Cuban embassy in the United States, there are no detainees nor is it known if the investigation has progressed, denounced today the Argentine journalist Gustavo Veiga.

In an article published in the newspaper Página 12, the teacher and writer recalled that ‘almost three and a half years have passed since a similar or worse precedent -32 bullets against the front of the diplomatic headquarters- and the man who confessed to the crime has not been convicted’.

The judge who prosecuted him retired and the US government, before with Donald Trump (2017-2021) and now with Joe Biden, does not provide security guarantees in a sensitive area of its capital, he added.

Likewise, he indicated that those criminal acts have a history that is tributary to the anti-Cuban preaching: the construction of an enemy with decades of development and whose propagator is the ultra-right-wing diaspora in Miami.

Veiga pointed out that these aggressions were committed in the center of political power, at a short distance from the White House and in an area with a high density of diplomatic headquarters, on a busy avenue, 16th Street.

In addition, he stated that when the most recent attack occurred, there were no police guards at the main entrance to the facility.
