During the meeting, at the Cuban embassy in Moscow, Esteban Lazo talked about actions conducted by the Cuban government to face the complex economic situation.
In this regard, he said that special attention is being paid to the need to diversify domestic production in order to prioritize the people’s food supply, which currently depends to a great extent on exports.
Lazo reaffirmed that the Cuban diplomatic mission in Russia has the responsibility to continue deploying work to reach major Russia-Cuba cooperation goals.
The ANPP leader argued that the ties between the two nations are progressing for mutual benefit.
The Cuban diplomats, on the other hand, explained to Lazo of actions being carried out in economic and commercial matters with the Russian business community.
They also detailed some elements regarding Cuba’s integration development into the Eurasian Economic Community, and how this scenario is an important setting for political, financial and social exchange.
Another issues discussed at the meeting was the university scholarship program in 27 Russian educational centers, which are focused on training professionals for Cuba´s priority sectors.
