The Bolivarian Republic and Namibia signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2006 in Windhoek, its capital, for the establishment of a Consultation Mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries.
Both nations established diplomatic relations on May 22, 1990 and were re-launched with the arrival to power of Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) in 1999.
