“Our friendly attitude towards Latin American countries is being reflected in the fact that we are always ready to help Latin Americans,” President Putin said at the “Russia-Latin America” parliamentary conference held in the State Duma.

According to the Russian leader, the presence of Latin American lawmakers at the meeting is a sign of “further proof of peoples developing a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership”.

Putin recalled Latin American fighters including Fidel Castro, Salvador Allende and Ernesto Che Guevara.

Over 200 people are attending the conference, which will be closed coming Monday .
