Mexican Electricians Union’s General Secretary and the New Workers Union, Martin Esparza opened the event – held at the SME Hall- attended by over 300 delegates of 122 organizations nationwide.

In his welcome speech, Esparza recalled passages of his union that is celebrating its 109th anniversary, and almost 14 years since former President Felipe Calderon (2006-2012) destroyed his “Luz y Fuerza del Centro” cooperative.

“They could not dissolve the unión, which has been kept alive thanks to all the solidarity received; thus, it has opened its doors, and in encounters, such as this first national convention, to analyze the domestic and overseas situation, and draw conclusions.
