The meeting, held at the Libra Hall of Minato Park Shibaura, proposes an approach to Latin American and Caribbean cultural diversity through the seventh art.

The 16 feature-length fiction or documentary films being exhibited are part of the highlights of the respective national filmographies of the last decade.

During the opening ceremony, Panama’s ambassador, Carlos Peré, highlighted the importance of this first festival and the joint efforts of the embassies involved.

He also thanked the producers and directors who authorized and facilitated the screening of the films in Japan.

The exhibition opened with the Mexican film Corazón de Mezquite (2019) and will conclude next Sunday with Gol de Plata (Guatemala, 2022).

Tomorrow Cuba will present El Mayor (2021), a film by director Rigoberto López that deals with important moments in the life of the famous Cuban patriot Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz.
