The meeting will be attended by 13 high-level delegates, including heads of government of the Caribbean Community, who will meet at the Radisson Beach Resort Hotel with an eye on how to mitigate the growing impacts of climate change in a highly vulnerable region.
Six themes will convene participants until tomorrow, firstly, strengthening resilience and achieving prosperity, boosting adaptation and addressing loss and damage.
Another area of discussion will be financing for the transition to renewable energies in the Caribbean by exploiting wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric potential.
Third, experts will analyze the transformation of the international financial architecture and regional collaboration on carbon pricing mechanisms, an aspect much debated at the recently concluded high-level segment of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
