Peruvian labor confederation demands US security for Cuban embassy

Lima, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) The General Confederation of Peruvian Workers (CGTP) on Thursday demanded that the Government of the United States guarantee the security of the Cuban Embassy in that country, and condemned the recent terrorist attack on the diplomatic mission.

Expressing its repudiation of the attack with Molotov cocktails on the Cuban Embassy in Washington, a statement issued by Peru’s largest trade union confederation said that the attack was perpetrated by anti-Cuba groups.

It called for the enforcement of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations and demanded that the US Government take “measures to protect the venue of the Cuban mission and prevent these kinds of terrorist attacks.”

“The CGTP, closely united and in solidarity with Cuban and US workers through proletarian internationalism, advocates relations of friendship and cooperation between peoples and the end of the economic blockade against the government and people of Cuba,” the statement added.
