The film will be shown at the Cine Club Festival, as part of the Festival House to appreciate Latin American artistic work and share it with filmmakers, critics, and specialists, this time amid the Mexican Film Festival, which is taking place at the 23 y 12 Theater until October 1.
“The Passion of Berenice,” directed by Jaime Humberto Hermosillo, tells the story of a young woman with traditional customs who lives with her godmother in a quiet provincial town. Rodrigo’s appearance will cause her a profound and unusual transformation.
The film has won several awards and acknowledgements, including the Ariel Award for Best Plot, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Film, which established its international tour and critics’ attention.
The screenplay was written by José Emilio Pacheco and director Hermosillo, with Martha Navarro in the leading role.
