The functionary stated that the situation on the border is terrible and we must avoid another conflict that will have severe consequences for all.
Gaza, home of more than two million inhabitants, is suffering a humanitarian crisis due to an Israeli blockade that began in 2007 after the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) came to power.
The special coordinator stated that “the United Nations is working with all stakeholders to improve the lives of the Gaza people, especially the most vulnerable ones.
According to the Al Quds news website, Wennesland met with Hamas leaders on Tuesday and later with Israeli authorities to find a solution, but without much result.
